This is definitely an authoritarian move. Our country is in deep trouble with this administration's actions.
Under the DC Home Rule act, Trump is allowed to federalize DC police during an emergency (which doesn’t exist right now), but only for 48 hours. This can possibly be extended to 30 days with notice to Congress, but it’s also subject to judicial review.

This is outrageous! Who determined Afghanistan is safe for women and children? Women have no rights under the Taliban. Part of Project 2025 and the Authoritarian regime to Make America White Only. They should be ashamed.
NEW: As the Trump admin is flying Afrikaners here today to be resettled as "refugees," @Sec_Noem is terminating Temporary Protected Status for Afghanistan — meaning they may start deporting women and allies who protected our troops to the Taliban to be persecuted or killed!
