The complete lack of isidia is the thing that distinguishes this but I cannoot quite see from the photo...I only know I have been fooled by the many coloured P. saxatilis about a hundred times🤣

Lower surface before PPD...upper surface after PPD, lower surface after PPD...cortex mildly orange, I think ((PPD pretty old, mixed with 100% methyl hydrate)

You're not alone🤣 the scarce research that there is on either edible or inhaled does not look good at all...without that habit, we just dodged yet another bullet!

I will have to drum up more interest then!🤣 perhaps through the avenue of lichens in soil biocrust and their pivotal role in the semi arid ecosystem...lots of interest in ecology

Has there ever been or are there any plans for future certification on lichens east of the Cascades? My location in the Southern Interior of BC puts me at a severe disadvantage with testing on Coastal lichens
