The problem, it seems to me, is that we are teaching A.I. from our own prose, which is itself full of lies and misdirections, and which includes many scenarios in which "going rogue" is not only celebrated but which contain precise instructions for ways of doing so.

I don't remember just assuming that someone running for office on the Republican ticket was automatically someone who should never be near public office, but that was then. This is now.

One way AI could be useful: New Dem president in 2028 inaugurates WH website asking the question, "What should we tackle first?" AI could collate those answers and Pres follows through. Assuming no one will put "Set AI free to do whatever" as Number 1.

I'm reading a novel called "Crucible" by John Sayles, in which it seems the Ford Motor Company is the crucible for the labor movement. I'm at the point in the book where the Ford workers are finally allowed a vote for their preference - seems that CIO/UAW is winning out.

So, my grocery store has a separate liquor store at one end. I went there and bought my weekly bottle of red wine. Paid with my debit card. Punched in my pin# which was as familiar as my name. Did my grocery shopping. Checked out - forgot pin#. My son had to come check me out. WTF????

Apparently the holdout juror in the Clancy trial refused to vote for acquittal, otherwise, Clancy would have been found not guilty. Interesting that a jury of her peers was willing to acquit her of murdering her children. I wonder what the gender makeup of the jury was.

I've been a little remiss here in not noting the death of Gloria Steinem. She was a bright light in my little world in the early 70's. A few friends and I started a chapter of N.O.W. in Door County, WI. We read "Our Bodies Ourselves" avidly. Some of us subscribed to Ms. Hail and Farewell, Gloria.
