Jazz OTD: This Sept. 9, 1958 performance at New York's Plaza Hotel wasn't intended initially for release. But the greatest sextet in history (Miles Davis's, with John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers, Jimmy Cobb) was in peak form; an essential, landmark recording. #jazzsky

This weekend my friend told us about his law school classmate who "doesn't really eat fruit". She apparently tried a grape once and didn't like it. We all puzzled over it at the bar but at the same time she was puzzling over *his* eating habits because he's eaten everything, including penis and dog.

I was at Oceans 8 on Flatbush recently with @clermont.bsky.social and made the mistake of calling One Piece “anime bullshit”. The bartender stoped working to argue with me. Several other nerds came out of the woodwork to tell me I just needed to give it a hundred episodes.

Here's the Chicago FOP's lawyer in the December issue of the union's newsletter with a column headlined, "Preventing, Avoiding Orders of Protection."

"Many times, the spouse doesn’t even understand the repercussions of filing for an order of protection."
