At some point in the last 3 weeks (since my last appointment) my nail salon started using a UV light with a WiFi connection and “A.I. assistant,” and nobody could explain how or why it was supposed to be useful.

At the airport and a lady just randomly sat at my table and made extreme eye contact but didn’t say anything. There are at least 5 completely empty tables in my direct line of sight. That’s weird, right?

In a weird way, serving jury duty this week has been extremely comforting - a reminder that even though many things are going to shit, some parts of the system are actually working the way they should. I really needed that.
