In 2024, I wrote for @brandonsun.bsky.social about how Sobeys decided to maintain a lease at its former 18th Street location despite having moved across the street to Shoppers Mall, with the company owning the building stating the grocery giant didn't want a competitor to move in.

Thinking of Brandon and Manitoba this week. The 2021 flooding got a bit hairy, but this is on another level. Hope everyone stays safe.
The Assiniboine River continued its gradual rise through Sunday, prompting the closure of northbound traffic on First Street North and leaving Grand Valley Road under water. (Full story and photo gallery) www.brandonsun.com/local/2026/0... #bdnmb

If you’re going to see Canadian folk comedy trio The Arrogant Worms, you gotta see them perform on the set of a community theatre production that has yet to start its run.

The worst part of reading Silver Age Spider-Man is having to read Stan Lee referring to the audience as "Spidophiles."

That's right: 2025 was the year of Claude Rains.

It's the reason for the season. That's right: Emerson, Lake and Palmer's Tarkus.

It's so depressing that the Canucks drafted the only superstar defender they've ever had and ended up forced to trade him because the team can't shake its unending dedication to shortcuts and half-measures.

It'll be tough watching Quinn Hughes light up the league for years knowing what we lost.

The Goldeneyes' jerseys look great in action.
Delighted to see the team pick up the overtime win after a close game.

I don’t know this pitcher, but as long as he can get some outs…

Thanks to the nice folks who helped me pick up a bunch of scattered @pgcitizen.bsky.social papers in College Heights this morning.

If you ever see that our papers or boxes have been messed with, please call 250-562-2441 or email [email protected] so we can send someone to deal with it.

Saw them every year in Manitoba, but this is my first time seeing a tornado warning in Prince George.

Even though I've left Manitoba, it's nice to see my photo of an annoyed school trustee live on.

I covered a few school lockdown events during my time in Brandon, but nothing that led to students getting hurt. Awful situation.

I will forever adore Brandon's obsession with getting a Costco.

Thanks to @darrinrigo.bsky.social and @akurjata.ca for sharing my work in their Prince George-centric online newsletters since my return to the city.

It's been nice to see that two guys who care deeply about this city feel that my work is a service to the community.

I accept this as Connor McDavid's apology for knocking the Canucks out of the playoffs last year.
