Watching the world burn at 200 Megahertz.

a 1999 artificial life pet watching the crumbles, wondering how long until the power goes out for the computer I live on, and getting annoyed at AIbros tarnishing the good name of neural nets.

The worst thing about burnout for me is that at times my reading comprehension takes a big steaming shit and it can be hard to tell when it's happening.

Take this as an apology in advance if I am uncharitable with you in a stupid way.

I swear we need an institute for TESCREAL studies because there is too much work to be done and they're spraying us with DDOS hype attacks
Has anyone written a comparison between the development of TESCREAL and the rise of spiritualism in the 1840’s and beyond? There are odd parallels along several different aspects. Perhaps there’s a theoretical framework with explanatory power out there.

I think we've got one last major outrage before violent public outrage and rival factions sick of their wastage of resources end up seeing them decisively brought to heel, probably in the life sciences.

i'm also not sure why we are obligated to make our information, which was human-made, digestible for bots (that *do* want it for free, en-masse). that's a really weird twist of priorities, especially considering anyone can look at the wiki.

If you've seen the latest VOTV teaser, I suspect for a number of reasons that Stolas is a rogue Rozital, not an Ars Goetia in that setting.

This movie can't possibly be fifteen years old.

Also, John Boyega got done so dirty by the US film industry it physically hurts.

From Chester Zoo, I give you: bush dogs, native to South America.

They're like a weasel crossed with a Corgi that swallowed a toy squeaker.

These little guys are named Rolo, Chomp, Munchie, and Freddo.

Let's learn about these tiny 'vinegar dogs' (who are quite fierce!).

The Luddites loved technology. They owned looms at home and would ‘mod’ them to count threads.

Their battle was against worker exploitation. The degradation of their rights, safety and wages.

They were against a handful of rich businessmen owning the means of production.

Sound familiar?

Like yeah, as bad as Lowtax was - and he was bad - the fact he didn't tolerate that shit breeding on the platform he was the webmaster of likely slowed the deterioration of this situation by years.
(and yes, i'm aware the ban was prompted by the proliferation of explicitly loli hentai. one of only two good things lowtax did)

Two things about this argument. Firstly, AI proponents are desperately trying to wear down your resolve any way they can, and they wouldn't be so keen to tell you it's inevitable if they weren't terrified of the push back.

Secondly, all AI slop can be expunged given the time, effort, and drive.
This "ai code/art is already everywhere and impossible to avoid so you should just relax about people using it" shit has to stop, it's not remotely true. Same exact shit as "it's the inevitable future!" or "you can't put the genie back in the bottle!!" We can literally do whatever the fuck we want

The state of the Adobe stock prices are a stark warning that Epic would pay attention to, if they weren't run by a total idiot.

It's basically the same situation as UE versus godot, and adobe made themselves too intolerable in the same way as Epic's trying to.

They will never allow or tolerate peace so long as they can force the conflict to continue.
