Common Good Glos is an emerging network of people and groups exploring practical and creative ways to strengthen civil society. If we act collectively, we will be in a better position to influence how civil society is valued and resourced. This will make it easier and more rewarding to take part.

Costs are rising and funding is getting harder to find. Recruiting volunteers is harder- people are working longer hours with less spare time to give. Complex rules and regulation make it harder to get stuff done. Public services are scaled back or closed down. This needs to change.

Thousands of good people in Gloucestershire give their time and energy to make things better for others. We have spoken to over 100 of them, listening to their views about the health of civil society in their community. The consensus - civil society is being asked to do more with less.

People and communities are having more pressures piled upon them. If we act collectively, we will be in a better position to respond to needs and keep valued services open. Join the Common Good coalition if you want to explore how we strengthen and sustain community life in Gloucestershire.
