I certainly hope you learn something from all of this, but I won't hold my breath. I imagine you'll be angry, dig your heels in, and continue doing the harmful thing two people told you not to because, as you said the first time my spouse called you out... it's easier...

I'm out though. Peace.

I HAVE to constantly call out the theft of my culture and religion. Doing so has actually, albeit slowly, changed things. Many games have stepped away from calling constructs "golems" and so on.

You, however, don't NEED to defend any of it... and it doesn't send a good message that you do...
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
Or, better yet... keep digging yourself a deeper grave and see where that gets you in the end.

Go ahead. Try and defend phylacteries (tefillin), harmful goblin and dwarven tropes, and wholly gentile manufactured Dybbuk boxes as well. I would LOVE to see you parrot more white supremacist tripe. /s

Why do you feel the NEED to waste your energy on defending theft instead of learning something new and using it to enact positive and meaningful change?

Are you so creatively bankrupt and morally spineless that you can't think of a name to use without stealing one? And where do you draw the line?
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
Golems in TTRPGs are not at all the same as actual Jewish Golems... at all. Not even close. They're golems in name only. That's the core of the problem.

So why do you, a non-Jewish player, feel the need to continuously use an appropriated (stolen) name and excuse it on behalf of said TTRPGs?
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
It boils down to one simple question: If something has been completely stripped of all cultural and religious context and remains linked in name ONLY, a name that could EASILY be replaced with something inoffensive while making no material difference, then why do you feel the NEED to call it that?
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
Ya know. Besides essentially saying that it's okay to steal religious aspects and also okay use antisemitic tropes as long as you aren't aware of their usage in antisemitic propaganda (because the usage exists) because you've never experienced wolfism and so you don't think it exists.
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
You just keep excusing its usage which has honestly been sad to watch.

All while never truly addressing the initial point too.
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
Need I remind you that this ENTIRE line of conversation started with a Jewish man pointing out that the usage of Golems in these games is antisemitic and you proceeding to distract from that point every chance you could by cherrypicking definitions, moving goalposts, and strawmaning other cultures.
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
Neither are Asian individuals btw.

It's important to note that NONE of this has been truly relevant in a conversation about Jewish people and Golems and their theft by non-jewish TTRPGs and game.

It's just a deflection. Distraction. And it suuuucks.
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
Native Americans (I am also one) are not strawman pawns for you to drag out and beat whenever you need a point to be made because you can't take a step back and say "I'm sorry. I didn't know that. Tell me more." and instead feel the need to defend the pro-apologist stance you backed yourself into.
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
Jewish people can create using their own culture too. We do it all the time. That's how we have golems, an 11th century Kabbalist creation, in the first place.

And if you genuinely can't understand that concept then honestly there's no hope for you.
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
This may be hard for you to understand (skill issue), but Native Americans engaging in their own culture to create a TTRPG (which seems to be the link) is NOT relevant to a discussion about gentiles STEALING Jewish religion and culture for fun and profit.

These are NOT the same things AT ALL.
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
I'd also recommend NOT using the same cherrypicked, easily disproved, def colonizers and n*zis use to try and back yourself up regardless of what language you do it in.

Cultural appropriation is, by definition, theft. Sometimes with permission (tokenism), but more often without.
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
Correcting a cherrypicked definition of what cultural appropriation means is actually relevant to the initial conversation at hand.

I will absolutely use my Latin skills to back that up so you can't pretend it's somehow different in French (it isn't) and attempt to move the goalposts for my SO.
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
If you want to be an apologist for capitalist TTRPGs and parrot white supremacist rhetoric then that's your prerogative. I certainly can't stop you. (nor does it surprise me after 10 years living in France tbh) I'd just recommend kindly finding some of their ilk to hang out with instead of myself.
September 15, 2026 at 3:31 PM
I'll address this only once because I've had you muted and I prefer it that way. It's the middle of our high holidays and I only have time for people willing to learn. I don't have time for people parroting white supremacist rhetoric to defend the antisemitic usage of golems in TTRPGs of all things.

I just become excited they’re using southern insults instead

They gotta learn Yiddish curses. They’re way more fun.

I hope your wife eats matzo in bed and you roll in the crumbs is a favorite of mine. Plus then they’d get to eat tasty matzo.
