This makes me feel better about my own lack of life skills.

Agreed. At the time we pointed to the Avs' depth as a strength, thinking the top 6 would be back to themselves in the WCF. But they never were. So the question is, why? Were they injured? Exhausted? Stymied by defenses that neutralized them and unable or unwilling to adjust? All of the above?

I'm really fascinated by this take I saw on the Avs subreddit. Maybe the Avs need more grit and meanness to complement all that speed and skill? But 1) Whom do you acquire?, and 2) What are you willing to give up for them?

Hakstol must go for sure. Normally I'm a big Bedsy defender, but for the Avs to get bounced repeatedly by teams playing the same style, without any apparent adjustment by the coaching staff... really makes you wonder.

I'm with you. I've also read some interesting commentary online that the Avs struggle against teams that use the neutral zone trap and a box-out zone at netfront. Might explain why Landy and the 4th line were the only ones effective in this series. What do you think-- time for Bedsy to go?

Yes, we are largely the products of childhood neglect. The thought could be, "No one was there for me, it's everyone for themselves." But it could also be, "I know how it feels to be unsupported. I don't want anyone else to suffer like that." The choice is very revelatory of one's character, I think

We are Generation Lead, so... seriously, brain damage due to childhood lead exposure is really the most charitable explanation I can come up with.

In the East I'm rooting for the Sabres as a feel-good story. But I'll be honest, after that I gotta go with the old guys in Pittsburgh making one last run. I'm also fond of Kyle Dubas.

American fans-- or at least those with a shred of decency-- will react too.

After seeing his reaction here, my immediate thought was that he's about to make this the entire NHL's problem

Sad to say, he's showing his true (stars and) stripes in his older years.

I love hockey, but most hockey players, not so much. Bigotry, misogyny,& greed transcend all other boundaries, even in ways that don't always make sense. The Panthers are a prime example. Seth Jones, for instance-- huge MAGAt despite being biracial. Aaron Ekblad also-- Trumper despite being Canadian

That was my first season as a STM. I remember being absolutely disgusted and questioning my decision.

LOVE this. After the Wild played it at one of their games last week, I had told a friend I would automatically renew my season tickets if the Caps did the same. Guess I'm re-upping! 🌈
