On this Day in 1938, the World Union of Freethinkers Congress was held at Conway Hall. An international gathering of secularists, atheists, and freethought organisations, the event saw speeches and talks from H.G. Wells, George Bernard Shaw, Somerset Maugham, Bertrand Russell amongst many others.

This Sunday Quartet Concrète return with a celebration of three wonderful works for string quartet including Haydn, Britten and Schubert's ‘Death and the Maiden’ Quartet in D minor. A fitting programme to bring our Summer 2026 season to an end.
