Funding is one of the trickiest parts of research, and our final Translational Research Summer Institute panel tackled it head on. Key takeaways: know what each foundation supports, leverage your university development office, and build partnerships before you apply for a grant.

Day 1 of our Translational Research Summer Institute is in the books. From the morning panel: show up in person, stay open when the project changes, share findings early. Adam Gamoran of the @wtgrantfdn.bsky.social: when communities help shape the questions, the findings actually get used.

Our Translational Research Summer Institute is officially underway. The opening session brought together practitioners at the intersection of research, practice, and policy. It also surfaced some lessons for researchers just starting to work with communities. We're off to a great start!

What a Reunion Weekend! Thanks to everyone who celebrated our 15th anniversary and heard Karl Pillemer's talk on aging and climate change. It made a compelling case for why older adults are both most vulnerable to climate change and most needed in the fight against it.
Here's to 15 more years!

Thank you Jenny Weil Malatras '02 for spotlighting work being done by Cornell University Cooperative Extension - New York City especially by the people touching lives across NYC.

We've been reflecting on our history - the people and programs making the BCTR into what it is today.

We're leveraging over 50 years of our past to shape our future, with an eye toward research that provides a positive impact for our communities.

We were proud to hold a Head Start & Early Education Summit at @cornelltech.bsky.social on Sept. 6. It was an important conversation on early childhood education programs and a nod to the legacy of our center's namesake, Urie Bronfenbrenner, who was instrumental in creating the Head Start program.

A big thank you to Provost Kavita Bala and Cornell Human Ecology Dean Rachel Dunifon for coming to our retreat yesterday and speaking with those working in our various projects. We appreciate you taking the time to answer our questions, and we truly value the insight you shared with us!

Our undergraduate students are amazing. These students have been working on translational research with faculty and they got to present their work during the BTCR Poster Symposium. We had nearly 120 people stop by and see nearly 50 incredible research projects.

We learned so much from Angela Odoms-Young about how the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program has been improving the lives of New York City residents for more than 55 years. Have you registered for the February 13 Talks at Twelve discussing Alzheimer's? bctr.cornell.edu/event/findin...

This week, Cornell Human Ecology unveiled its Trailblazer Poster Series. Urie Bronfenbrenner is one of the trailblazers honored with a poster in the MVR hallway, outside the center that bears his name. A big thank you to Urie's daughter, Kate, for stopping by to see the poster.
