in addition to "discomfort does not equal harm" I wish people also realized that sometimes (actually, most of the time) if there's something uncomfortable in a narrative, it's supposed to be uncomfortable. yes, even if its "romanticized", the author usually trusts you understand it's uncanny.

I think what's always so upsetting about people shitting on Angel and how he's depicted is that I would have LOVED to have a character like Angel Dust when I was healing from what I went through and people are essentially being told theyre wrong for finding comfort in his story.
