Cuando era profe, me hacía that I'd often forget some word in English and I'd have to use Espanish, thus confusing most of the gringos, gringas, and grenges en mi clase. Which was fun, no mames.

thanks for letting me know who to block, Kenny.

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who sort the universe into dual parts and those who do not.
Oh.
Wait. . .

(Mainly, the point is that dualisms are lame-ass lazy thinking. But lazy thinking sells.)

Senator Heinrich, who voted to confirm his “friend” MarkWayne Mullin, is complicit and should not be a Senator.
I entered US with my godson who is now in a concentration camp & I know he paid for his visa. But ICE only knowes deportation & their so-called judges work for Drumph.

Fears well-founded.

This is a very big deal, but not really understood or reported by most corporate media, which is generally afraid of anything that presents the tech bros in a negative light.

GGC for the win, here.

This is an irresponsible administration, the same folks who advertised for "deportation judges," which is certainly NOT what a judge should be. Might as well say "we are looking for hanging judges." The rapid pace and sloppy work of these IJ's is what the admin wants. Don't let htme have it.

While waiting for our case, we listened as a Dreamer's attorney explained her detained client had been unable to get a medical appointment despite repeated tries to contact Prairieland, HHS, et al. No medical clearance, no release. Rather than push for DHS to do its job, judge said "try harder.

Not having family visit the USA is one approach, but it seems like obeying in advance. Record all CPB interactions. Call your state delegation to get Immigration Judges out from under DOJ via HB 7836. There's good reason to abolish ICE & to primary Martin Heinrich, HHS leadership's best pal.

Congress should investigate.

IJ's are NOT part of the Judicial branch. They work for the DOJ, subject to the policy whims & illegal crap from Diaper Don's administration.
Legislation to fix this: Real Courts, Rule of Law Act (H.R. 7836).

Immigration courts face a profound structural problem—they operate under DOJ and are therefore extremely vulnerable to political interference. This page collects resources, updates, and opportunities ...

Enter US at an airport? Your I-94 is visible online & the visitor may be safe. At land crossings ask if you can record. It should be legal. Try it.
Better yet, avoid travel to the USA. Boycott this place.

Is CBP purposefully not filing I-95s at crossings, thus allowing ICE more targets? Maybe.
October 1, 2026 at 8:16 PM
During the hearing, the immigration judge (IJ) said he would accept testimony from a disinterested party, "like someone in line who heard the CBP officer." That, of course, would be impossible crossing by car.
"Or," he said, "if you had a recording of the CBP officer."
I-94 Receipt? Not enough.

Even IF the judge had found in my aijado's favor, the government would've appealed. Attorney said they always do. Then, defendant stays in detention for 30 days while govt. drafts its appeal. Visitors without family here are unlikely to get released on bond. Appeal hearings take months to schedule.
October 1, 2026 at 8:16 PM
Off the record, judge said his hands were tied without other evidence. Lawyer said voluntary departure—VD, which admits to the overstay—may be the option if govt. won't agree to dismiss for lack of "clear & substantial evidence" (required, but absent here). IJ didn't dismiss, but VD was granted.

A friend with deep pockets paid for a capable immigration attorney.Hearing was scheduled. Government filed an extension (later admitted to be in error) keeping him an additional week. Prior to hearing, judge asked why I was online & attorney explained I was witness to a legal admission.

Visitors should check I-94 status online. No prior crossings showed prior paid I-94s. He should have re-visited an inspection site & corrected it. En route to a wedding, he was detained by monolingual ICE officers at DFW. His I-84 receipt didn't matter. They sent him to Prairieland detention.

My godson (aijado) visits often, always pays an I-94 fee for extended stay. Otherwise, US-issued border crossing card is good only for a short stay & travel 55 miles from the border in New Mexico (other states vary). I crossed with him in May, he paid online, showed CPB the receipt. All good? Nope.
