My remake done on February 27, 2026 done to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the franchise. This portrait has red and green split colors. The words read "Happy 30th anniversary, Pokemon!" The top is Charizard (The Flame Pokemon), a lizard like Pokemon with orange skin, a yellow underside, three clawed digits on each limb, a flame on the tip of its tail and wings with blue insides. It flies towards the viewer with its right arm extending forward with the left clenched backward. Surrounding it are flames. The bottom is Venusaur (The Seed Pokemon), a frog like Pokemon who is large in size, alongside having six visible fangs, three claws on each foot, and a flower on its back. The flower has six pink petals with light spots, a long thick brown trunk and leaves under it. Surrounding it are leaves. My original portrait drawn during the 24th anniversary on February 27, 2020. The text reads, "Happy 24th Anniversary, Pokemon!" Summarizing this as I can't fit every word, I congratulate it for its 30th anniversary and it changed my life for the better, even with its ups and downs. I first came across it with the anime, watching Ash & his friends travel from Kanto to Hoenn, and my first Pokemon game, LeafGreen, I received in 2004. My first Pokemon & 2nd favorite partner Pokemon was Bulbasaur. I preferred Venusaur to Blastoise & Charizard as it was soft but had an edge. I got Sapphire, Emerald and Pearl. Then I met my best friend who also loved Pokemon. I was made fun of for liking Pokemon, and in the mid 2000s to early 2010s, Pokemon wasn't something to openly like, and Pokemania slowly died down in Gen 3. I was told to not discuss it in public, alongside people I knew who got over it, which made others say I should too. And that Pokemon wasn't benefitting my life. I was autistic so I was made fun of for that and for my art, despite Pokemon being the gateway for me drawing. I met more Pokemon fans during the late stages of my youth, and Pokemon GO's popularity made the series more accepted, yet people told me how it wasn't good to show love for Pokemon publicly (from clothes, merch, etc.) yet that was obviously wrong as I saw adults do the same thing. I felt like being made fun of Pokemon was a rejection of myself, that I couldn't thrive. Yet the past 10 years I saw more acceptance of Pokemon & people sharing their love. Pokemon's strength other than design are connections and it caused me to learn about myself, to express myself from art, and that I am valid. That I don't have to please people. I met people I wouldn't have otherwise, and I hope the bonds that many of us forged from Pokemon will allow our heartfelt emotions to remain together forever, no matter how long, from now until the end of time!
