C-PROOF floats and gliders were featured in a Nature of Things episode about how the weather is getting weirder. Around 18:30 where the ocean’s role in regulating the climate is discussed by Brad de Young, and C-PROOF and DFO are seen deploying floats and gliders.

Thanks Bamfield Marine Science Centre for catching glider Eva for us! Eva has been doing laps of the Vancouver Island Shelf, looking at hypoxia in the Juan de Fuca Eddy, which means lots of boat trips. Thanks to @uvicscience.bsky.social co-op student Martin who has been making the trip from UVic.

We work with folks based in Nanaimo, Quadra Island, and Vancouver - it was great that some of us could get together at the DFO State of the Pacific Ocean meeting in Sidney BC! @hakai.org @ubcoceans.bsky.social
