I'm a retired a United Methodist pastor. I might be a conservative liberal or a liberal conservative — it's hard to say. I'm interested in Wesleyan theology, science, jazz, literature and gardening. I'm not interested in sports or politics.
People mean different things when they speak of "faith." I'm not sure the differences in meaning are always noticed. So it's helpful to clarify. Here is what I mean when I talk about faith or the life of faith. ko-fi.com/post/What-I-...

This is what I looked like when I came out of Seminary in 1975 & served the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church in the Muskegon, Michigan area. Young, very skinny, brash and foolish. (But no more foolish than now.)

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (in this view) does not initiate a new faith-based tyranny — it is, in fact the basis for freedom from all human tyrannies — be they political or personal. ko-fi.com/Post/The-Gos...

I keep hoping people will stop using the word “literal” to describe the Bible — as in: “take the Bible literally” “literal interpretation of the Bible” and so forth. It’s never going to happen, but I keep hoping. substack.com/home/post/p-...
