The most important block of "swing voters" this November are the tens of millions of people who feel so alienated from politics that they currently do not vote.
Give people a reason to vote--candidates they can trust, policies that improve their lives--and they will show up at the polls.

America's plague of gun violence is a choice, not an inevitability. Anyone who tells you differently is a fool, a mouthpiece of the gun manufacturers lobby, or both. My heart is very heavy today. On any given day, untold numbers of people feel the same way.
It does not have to be this way.

People are rightly furious with the president--the Iran war is a spiralling debacle.

You should be **angrier** with the members of congress and the cabinet who have the power to stop him, yet do nothing. Why? Political ambition--dead (predominantly Muslim) civilians are mere collateral damage.

Operation Metro Surge has been hard on everyone, but is particularly traumatizing for our children. My spouse, who heads the Minnesota Urban Debate League, reflects on this issue, and calls on people to act.

In the early morning, ICE raided the elementary school bus stop during the pick-up time, causing panic among the 4th and 5th graders. This unfortunate event took place outside the Woodland Village Apartments in Lindenwold, New Jersey.
