We need to stop calling it "our media." A day without Paramount, or Musk, is a day with sunshine. Let's go after that. We do not have to stay locked into ANY news or media organization. They are only as important as we collectively make them.

9/21/2026 is the day broadcast journalism in America died. The expulsion of network news outfits from the White House pool, and this merger, move us so much closer to an explicit overt scream in your face effort to control the media. Just another day in fascism.

He wants the love the American people still have for JFK, and he'll never get it, so he has to destroy this sacred monument to what we love instead. I am a retired American historian. It's only one of many atrocities in this admin, but this one makes my Irish American ass want to throw a punch.

I used to think in despair that our political discourse is at the level of an idiot venting at the end of the bar, at the end of the night, to whom a few people murmer encouraging grunts. I think we now aspire to that level of discourse.
