Taboo is a sex worker who was used in an illegal experiment which fused vampire DNA to her blood and allows her to use her own blood to create an iron-hard shapeshifting armor.

Her life changed when she met Professor Hoagland, a Cabal scientist who bonded a symbiotic suit to her body. The newly superhuman Amanda was hired by The Cabal, whose agent Pike became her trainer and lover until she disobeyed his order to kill Hoagland. Shortly thereafter, she was framed by Pike for Hoagland's murder. Serving life In Purgatory Max, she was freed by Backlash. The two became partners and eventually lovers. Taboo's name was recently cleared with Backlash's help, and they are now employed by Department PSI. POWERS. The symbiote, which Taboo can don at will, is an organic armor that absorbs blunt attacks and heals any wounds short of those caused by small: caliber weapons. It also gives her the power of persuasion, enabling her to sometimes mesmerize opponents with her voice. The symbiote is spawned from vampire DNA and is fueled by her own blood, giving her skin a ghost-white color when in use. Lately, Taboo has gone into frenzy at the sight of blood.
