The incarcerations, I mean. As in, "They're only housed there temporarily until they're processed and removed."

Uh-huh.

I tease people by saying "We can never be friends," when they don't like something i love, but in reality, I do not actually care. We are all different, and [almost all of us*] hold multitudes.

“Normal” gets used to harm people, destroy art, disrupt lives.

It’s as banal as discussing things we like and dislike, setting up certain kinds of art as weird, useless, necessarily awful. We condition ourselves to think like this when it comes to people, because people make and enjoy art.

Including some of my very favorite people in the world. The thing is, though, they don’t try to make me feel bad about disliking this omnipresent very popular thing. It isn’t “normal” to like a TV show, and it’s not “abnormal” to dislike it.

For lack of a better term: don’t normalize the concept.

I’m not here declaring my hatred. I just feel like we need to be careful when discussing people who like or do not like things. We’re in an age where even if you’re not a fascist, there is enormous pressure to be “normal”.

Normal has always been false, but it’s really useful for fascists.
