Writing about the web platform — what it already does, and what shipped last week.

Building transclude, a simple HTML-first server-side framework where a page is an .html file and any part of it is also a URL.

It's funny because it seemed liked Apple just got iOS and macOS looking decent and mature and then they dropped Liquid Glass. Such a time-waste in terms of design and engineering for, frankly, a less accessible experience.

Pitfall was the best executed.

Donkey Kong was a terrible port but my favorite game period.

E.T. was so bad it was good.

Great writeup and even better thought-process on how we need to be thinking about web development for all.

This was my 2nd paint program after ColorPaint for the IBM PCjr.

Deluxe Paint II and Deluxe Paint Animation are what got me into UI design.

Can vouch for Scott's courses. I bought one of his web performance courses years ago and every lesson was a treasure. Will definitely look into the custom elements course, thank you!

A real labor of love.

I had a Model 30 as well. It was my first computer that had a hard-drive (20 MB!). Always bothered me that the model 25 and 30 had MCGA graphics and all of the other models has VGA. So few games supported MCGA compared to VGA back then. When they did though, the games looked terrific this like.

My web framework, transclude, makes building web components a bit simpler because the entire framework is HTML-first.

While I bill it as a server-side framework, if you opt-in to Custom Elements in your app, it can also become a client-side framework.

One .html file becomes a custom element. Light DOM by default, shadow root opt-in.
