Pablo Torre's phenomenal work exposing the Clippers scandal sticks out so much because whatever passes for sports "journalism" these days, especially at the most visible levels, is just back-slapping bullshit or quid pro quo contract announcement stenography. It doesn't have to be this way.

This line of questioning is utterly irrelevant to public policy & to the lives of 99% of the people AES will be representing. But it is what America's desiccated, decadent political media has come to see as "tough questions" -- ie, questions designed to hurt your chances of being elected.
Tur: It’s not just the media, and I reject that framing. 6 in 10 Americans don’t know who he is. I’m not saying he’s the most important person in the world, but...is it worth losing votes you need to win?

AES: 10 in 10 Americans agree that they can’t afford the things that they need in their lives.

The platform needs to be institutional reform, & if Democrats & their voters just think winning every election forever without fixing any of the institutions is going to work, then we are in for a generation or more of disappointment & constantly being on the precipice of authoritarianism.

- Enlarging the House
- MMDs

After the S&L crash over 1000 execs went to jail. The threat of jail affects white collar workers who are potential cheats. The failure to repeat after toe Great Crash emboldened this crowd of cheats.

interesting to me that as the administration treats democratic-voting states like conquered or occupied territories, you don’t have pundits demanding the president respect “half the country”

Woke 2 needs Democratic leaders to remember that the Federalists and anti-Federalists hated each other. Get that attitude toward Republicans and talk accordingly. They are your colleagues working against everything you stand for, not good-intentioned, misguided friends.
