I'm trying to hem my husband's pants, but I don't understand what length to do it. I've watched several videos, but they all look short. Do you have advice? See the photos. I hemmed the right leg. Thoughts? Thank you.

My cat tried to help himself to the treats. He ended up with the bag on his head, and I was not quick enough to get a photo. 1. He was quick to get it off, and 2. My first instinct was to make sure he was okay. It was very funny though.

Wedding etiquette question: is it okay to wear an all black dress to a wedding? It's feminine, lacy, a bit goth. It's pretty, just all black.

I just went to Staples and bought a bunch of new supplies that I probably didn't need, but for me, it's like a candy store. I couldn't resist, especially since they have their back to school stuff out. Ready to outline. What's your favorite office product?

I wrote a short script in March and got some harsh feedback on it. I finally opened it today and made progress editing. Sometimes you just have to let it rest.

I'm writing at the coffee shop today. The people at the table beside me are talking to a man, telling him the story of their deceased mother/grandmother. I have no idea if he's a journalist or some other writer or something else. But it's nice to hear them speaking fondly of the woman.

Finally got the porch clean from the inch of pollen, and we're enjoying sitting outside. Especially, this guy.

I just finished the Indian Lake trilogy by @stephengrahamjones.com
I highly recommend it to horror fans even though it broke my heart a little. I love his writing style & the way he brings his characters to life. This is my 4th book by him since the end of Dec & I'm not really a horror reader.

How do you feel about homemade gifts?

Ugh. I took the day off to work in my front flower bed taking up the mulch & planting new plants... I hate every minute of it. I do not have a green thumb. Wish I had a landscaper. I only do it so my house doesn't look terrible. I totally don't understand why some people live it. Wgat am I missing?

When did I get so old that I enjoy watching birds outside my window make a nest? I was excited to see the male carrying straw today. He's usually just the lookout. I'm now invested in them as a couple. (Sorry for the bad photo.)

I just finished listening to "The Knight and the Moth" by Rachel Gillig, and I'm a bit bummed to have to wait until September for the follow up. If you're a romantasy fan, I highly recommend it. I've enjoyed all the books I've read. Hope to see more of Bartholomew.

Donald Trump is an unhinged warmonger and war criminal using violence for personal gain and profit, while innocent people pay the price.

Congress must reconvene to pass the War Powers Resolution. The 25th Amendment must also be invoked. Congress has to do our damn job. War powers and Impeachment.

I had a body horror type of dream last night. My scalp was pealing in these big hand size chunks. They we hanging all over my head. I kept trying to pat them back into place like I could fix it. My head didn't hurt, it was more like a super itchy uncomfortable prickly feeling, almost burning. 😐

Are these little fake ladybugs good luck? This one has been walking back and forth on my lap desk for five minutes. Or maybe it's trying to tell to stop procrastinating and get to work.

I have mixed feelings on the Stranger Things trailer. I love the song, "who wants to live forever," and how it's used... but it will always be Highlander's song for me.

The most devastating screenplay you'll ever write isn't the one that fails—it's the "safe" one you wrote because you were too afraid to fail. Don't let fear steal your voice. Your unique perspective is your competitive advantage.

Cleaning my porch today, and feel a little guilty destroying this magnificent web. It's fairly big, but my camera would only pick up this end. Don't worry, the spider won't be harmed.

I'm hand writing notes on something and my mind went blank on a word. So, I asked my husband how to spell 'psychic,' and he spelled out, "sidekick." We got a good laugh.

I think that if you're a writer and you don't invent a word every now and then you're missing out on a solid chunk of the fun.

I feel very silly. I just got teary when a coworker told me about the new Barbie with type 1 diabetes. My dad had this, so awareness has always been important to me. I love seeing this.

Oh no. There's a whole family. This is my in-laws house down the hill from my house. My dog is going crazy.
