Lord of the Rings is my favorite story, because at its core it's about how the power of loyalty and friendship and bravery can overcome even the darkest evil, and how the overlooked are often the ones who save us, and also about how wanting to eat potatoes again badly enough is a superpower

Make sure you go outside tonight just after sunset, and you will be able to see the Venus-Jupiter conjunction in the sky. It is a really good opportunity for some observational astrology and astronomy.

pretty dishonest to say "they won't" when so many people have been out in the streets, historic numbers in fact. but also: every day citizens don't take oaths to protect and uphold the constitution.
The "Do Something Now" crowd wants politicians to take a bullet for them, while they cower on social media.
They will demand others to throw their lives away to perfect democracy, but they won't.

I can’t imagine seeing the momentum from this weekend and wanting to channel it into… (checks notes)… going back to November of 2024 - when things were so bad that enough people decided to roll the dice and elect Donald Trump - rather than into universal healthcare or taxing billionaires.
