the cerebroscope is something we are naturally endowed with. natural selection made us able to simulate, with relative precision, e.g., how kahenman's Mr. Crane and Mr. Tees feel. to engineer tech for decoding conscious mental content, we can start by asking "how do we do it naturally?"

Kati Balog basically solved the indeterminacy problem for phenomenal consciousness in "Hard, Harder, Hardest"! The problem only persists if you accept Searle's outre hypothesis that a creature could be conscious on a basis physically and functionally distinct from the human case!
