The New WordPress Dev Toolbox: Local-First, Agent-Assisted, Terminal-Shipped
The last few weeks have been fantastic for anybody who builds plugins and themes for WordPress. Three tools dropped that, stacked together, cover the whole build and deploy process: spin up a site, build something, ship it to the wp.org directory. No Docker wrangling, no "works on my machine," no SVN tap-dance. 1. WordPress Studio now runs on Linux For years the Studio desktop app was a Mac-and-Windows party.

I half-seriously kept waiting for social media to be identified as the culprit, but these chimp researchers actually have found the solution for polarized and divided humans: we just need a big slappy, run-around-shrieking, mutual grooming party. www.404media.co/worlds-large...

I talk often about breaking out of walled gardens, that you don't have to be on corporate-web in order to be on the web.

This is a fantastic article about the problem and how to (pretty easily) fight it. Well worth reading.

Also, @strange.website is a rad human being.

Their "more efficient" process than having writers write:

• AI identifies possible stories
• Reporters do further reporting and produce notes
• Another person uses AI to generate a story from the notes, then rewrites/"tweaks"
• Another person fact-checks/edits
• Reporter reviews
A conscientious journalism grad withdraw from a job when she learned the Cleveland Plain Dealer uses AI to write its stories.

Now the editor is castigating her and journalism professors for not being “prepared for the workforce.”

You can’t make this shit up.
