apparently gardeners find it hard to retire

she put her snippers to use
deadheading the cosmos in the front flower beds

be surprised
look closely
do you see it
hope growing where least expected
though this plant looked dead for many weeks
she continued to water it
when she thought enough was enough
and picked it up to toss it
she was surprised
new growth

Balcony gardening lesson : On really windy days, move larger plants out of the wind, or at least the ones susceptible to damage. Glad there are such spaces on our balcony.

Following example from Deb’s Greenhouse (in Alberta), I picked up a Rudbekia to put in a planter, added some coleus around the base. Also a begonia to replace a lavender that didn’t agree with it’s planter mates. Waiting till the begonia acclimatizes before potting in place.

Beautiful morning for a walk around a pond
home to wood ducks, geese and many other beings
1. Wading in the water
2. Where did you get breakfast
3. What, me? I just threw this on.

sitting for any length of time is hard during leg surgery recovery
so the alternative is to go for walks, indoor during rain storms, being
surprised with the brilliant colours celebrating the country’s flag

to try and restrict the movement of water out of the fountain
they created a wall around the flow
wether said wall will withstand the wind
may be another lesson they will learn
