Can you prove there is a genocide of the Palestinians? I've read the reports from Amnesty International, the UN and some others, but they don't conclusively show it. The suffering and destruction are real, but those by themselves don't automatically mean genocide.

That, along with the 11 week blockade, were policies I felt were stupid and short-sighted. Even so, what I said above remains true. The ICC arrest warrants don't mention genocide at all, but they DO mention war crimes and crimes against humanity. The ICJ still hasn't ruled on South Africa v. Israel.

I don't. However, I know that genocide is a legal, not political, term, and that based on the preponderance of the evidence so far, Israel isn't guilty of committing genocide. Still, I'll await the final ruling of the ICJ in the South Africa v. Israel case.

Amnesty International can write a report on this, and I've actually read that report, but it doesn't conclusively show that Israel HAS committed genocide. They're not the International Court of Justice, which DOES have jurisdiction over this matter. Genocide is a legal, not political, term.

That was written five days after Hamas launched its genocide against Israel, AND just over two weeks before Israel launched its ground invasion into Gaza. Hamas isn't a protected party under the Genocide Convention, and while the suffering is real, it by itself doesn't constitute genocide.

I've seen the word genocide more times in the last 3 years than in the previous 30 before that. If I had a dollar for every time I heard it, I'd use some of that money to get those folks an education in genocide studies.
