A president does not get to choose his own press corps. The White House briefing room is not Trump's stage and the press pass is not a party favor handed out for flattering coverage, it is the public's seat in the room, held in trust by reporters who work for us, not for him.

This is straight out of Handmaids Tale.

A high school trying to force girls to disclose the dates and lengths of their menstrual cycle.

Don’t comply? You lose a grade.

There’s absolutely no reason a school needs this information other than to exert control over our bodies.

Why are we all acting like Trump has the power to ban the press from the White House with an announcement?
This would take an act of Congress and Constitutional amendment.

NEW: In a loss for North Carolina voters, a state appeals court made it easier for the GOP-led state election board to continue adopting restrictive voting measures.

While the ruling — which upheld a GOP law — is expected to be appealed to the state supreme court, a different outcome is unlikely.

The power grab was “unconstitutional beyond a reasonable doubt," the lower court had found.

Big news: The family of Tierra Walker, who died after she couldn't get an abortion, is suing a slate of Texas actors in state court, including AG Ken Paxton. They say the state ban is unconstitutional.

This is the first suit of its kind.

The case, filed Tuesday, argues that Texas’ near-total abortion ban violates the state and U.S. Constitutions, which “prohibit state actors from killing their citizens.”
