A short thread on “legitimate concerns”. The phrase is used repeatedly by UK government ministers. The Home Secretary is at it again this week. But only ever - as far as I can tell - in one context: people’s response to the arrival of asylum seekers.

Please read whole 🧵before responding - thanks

Not only did I meet Robert Kraft, I worked for him.

His kid Jonathan asked me to “remove the black music” from my gameday playlist in ‘94 & I refused so they fired me. I was the cheerleader director at the time.

I sued them for wrongful termination and won.

So yes, I know that motherfucker.
Did you ever meet Bob Kraft?

For 33 years, McConnell has voted against family and medical leave for working Americans. Then he disappears from the Senate for 92 days and keeps collecting his full paycheck. Apparently, paid leave is only a problem when someone else gets it.

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston: "That's what the lifeboat does. It saves lives at sea. That's its job."

"And this is an international duty. Everyone who goes to sea knows, in the event of someone being in difficulty, you go to their assistance."

The abuse the RNLI have faced is a disgrace.

This, my friends, is one of your legislators. We didn't elect him, but he sits in the House of Lords as a reward for bringing us Brexit, injecting his bigotry, perversity and ignorance into our lives. Daniel Hannan in the Daily Mail today, once again grossly misrepresenting history.

Why do BBC headlines always seem to be "What Reform says about what's happening", not "What is actually happening"?!

A reminder that Delo previously pled guilty in the US to violating money laundering protections and agreed to pay a $10 million fine for "willfully” breaking the law with his BitMex platform, which was described as "in effect a money laundering platform.”

i think it is bad that the president is that helm of a deranged cult of personality
Trump: "Please right your right hand. I pledge to the greatest president in the history of the United States. That loves us so much he can't even breath. That I will go out with my family, my friends, I'll do it any way - I don't care if I'm registered or not, I'm going to try to cheat like hell..."

I am still (11 years later) unable to grasp how the images of little Alan Kurdi’s body washed up on a beach wasn’t the final word on treating refugees with compassion and dignity. How we are we having attacks on the RNLI for saving HUMAN lives being encouraged by our media.

I weep for our world.

The world has gone mad! Folks getting arrested under the UK Terrorism Act for holding a sign that said "I oppose genocide" 🇬🇧 That is fucked up! The majority of those arrested have been pension aged women, often with disabilities. Do these folks look like terrorists? Shame on you England. #Free 🇵🇸

Instead of the headline… “Reform caught taking foreign donations”, the #BBC are introducing the element of doubt and suggesting it could all have been a silly mistake after all.

See how it works yet?
