34 years, 9 months, & 5 whole days sober. And no matter how bad some of those days got when sober, I still would take any one of those over any so called best days back when I was still using. For people like us there is no bad situation we won’t make worse with a drink.

I did notice very few ever get a reply to their rabid growling with insults and chumming for argument. Almost like they can’t bare to look at the mistake they made so they need a diversion in hopes of some day finding some shred of justification for donating nine years of life to a fraud.

Seems like the more I write the more I become aware of all the pitfalls of being a good or affective writer. First for me is to realize it’s not a competition. What has also become apparent is the more it needs to be said, the more I will risk sucking as a writer. So be fearless!

I finally asked one of those criticizers on FB - “Do you make these lies and insults up on your own or have you heard them so much you lost the ability to tell the truth or be civil?” I’m going to do all I can to make this last because just about every other platform is a bad neighborhood to me.

I just joined Bluesky myself and my pronouns are he/him and I’m pleased to welcome you no matter what your pronouns are. I have had the good fortune to get to know a lovely couple who also identify with the same pronouns as you and my life is so much richer for it.
