I like to write in silence although with builders in this week I have discovered I can write with a hammer drill in the next room. I write better in the mornings and preferably at the kitchen table with a view outside

I chose challenges Eddie creates in order to get Jude out dating etc.
The challenges morphed into a vehicle for Eddie to help Jude face a future without him. A couple were taken from Eddie’s original list

I overheard two boys I worked with discussing an emotional topic. One of them suddenly started speaking in the voice of Bart Simpson as a strategy to cope. I made Jude and Eddie huge Star Wars fans so they could slip into those character voices.
