And so I say to every elected official: cancer doesn’t give a fuck who you vote for. Neither does heart disease or diabetes.

The reason that we have made a great deal of progress on prevention and treatment is b/c scientists had the freedom to work on topics that are beneficial to ALL humans.

There’s some lag time before the U.S. really starts falling behind in new preventive strategies, but we are rapidly approaching it.

A Phase I trial of an mRNA vaccine against Epstein-Barr Virus has just launched in Australia, and this vaccine could prevent multiple sclerosis, among other things.

Think of your biggest financial risk: it's not your stock portfolio, it's losing your paycheck. That's why unemployment is the single best measure of economic health—when people can't earn a living, everything else in the data is just background noise.

And unemployment is rising.

Remember when Trump lied that the Biden administration wasn't sending all the relief money North Carolina needed?
Stein: What is typical after a storm like this is that the federal government provides about 50, 60, even 70 percent of the damages in relief dollars to help a region recover from a massive hit. So far, North Carolina has received about 11 percent.

John Quackenbush built a lab that is at the forefront of human genetics research and bioinformatics. Trump administration cuts have put it in danger of collapse.

Now, the Trump administration wants to end protections against such discrimination.

It's too easy to be distracted by the economic story of the day. The more important story is of our system fraying: The rule of law is decaying, Bribery spreading, crony capitalism normalized. It won’t show up in next quarter’s data, but when our kids try to build their lives.

Anyone still quibbling that this isn't fascism?
The White House has ordered the US Dept. of Justice to prioritize denaturalization: voiding the citizenship of US citizens.

Who will it denaturalize? "Any" case that it "determines to be sufficiently important".

Point 10 leaves the criteria opaque and arbitrary.

It’s fucking insane. With HHS, IRS, and Social Security data, a competent intelligence agency (or AI) could create a hyper accurate profile on you. They could predict your daily routine down to a frightening level.

I don’t know what’s next, but nothing good.
