This is why I find the discourse about “woke 1” so infuriating. Black people suffer material consequences from racism that ruin our careers and lives. But because White people turned DEI into a status tournament, we gotta roll back the civil rights act. It’s maddening.

the cha cha slide. it's not really the song though. i was always super uncomfortable with group dances + everyone had to do them. teachers got pissy if you didn't participate. the cha cha slide was common bc everyone else loved it; they'd use the chance to do it as a reward. it still makes me flinch
