i’m actually kind of surprised that all this AI stuff hasn’t already produced a good way to auto-transcript that can identify speakers

hmm after poking around if i actually open it in Apple Podcasts it has an automatically-transcribed transcript but it doesn’t identify the speakers (and of course there’s no guarantee about accuracy either)

is there any chance at getting a transcript? i really struggle with audio-only content but i’d love to be able to read this conversation

that description doesn’t make any sense. UPnP does not mean a NAS will allow unauthorized anonymous access on the LAN. UPnP may allow for service discovery but knowing the service exists is not the same thing as having permission to access it

Terrence Tao had a whole set of posts recently about how the point of these problems is attempting to solve them leads to new discoveries and approaches, and that brute-forcing them with LLMs is a huge net negative because it forever closes off the potential to find the other stuff

When I’m reading people saying that every math student already should have a $200 subscription to OpenAI or whatever, it feels like math’s already been wrecked even more than software engineering.
