Yeah, they're pretty great mimics. And you should see all the birds Merlin thinks are around when our mockingbirds start up! 😂

We've always assumed the same, based on hearing them do this when they come around for food. Especially juveniles. So much more pleasant than the ear-splitting screech!

We hear them do this a lot! Especially juveniles with their parents. I always assumed the sound was kind of like a dog begging - that they're excited & want something. They do find plenty of seed & peanuts in our yard.
Of course, I could be off the mark - anthropomorphizing or something. 🤷♀️

Yes we need childcare subsidies in the US.
Also healthcare reform.
What that example failed to mention is that those healthcare deductions will now have to come out of the remaining paycheck. If that plan is like my employer's, it's higher for a spouse than for employee. Not to mention kids.
