All this fuss about hiring people who play hide-the-sausage with animals, but so very little about the ones who've stolen from their employers. The second group seems much more like the ones to watch (in more ways than one).

Egypt also merits consideration here. The Houthis now control the Bab el-Mandeb, and so they can have a chokehold on the Suez Canal - which brings in a lot of the foreign currency that Egypt needs every year. Cairo might have to jump in on the side of Yemen now, thus widening the regional conflict.

my mind is whether there's more benefit to Ukraine in starving Russian logistics of fuel for a winter offensive (when the soil will freeze hard enough for heavy vehicles to move well); or in gambling on a Russian promise to stop attacks on civilian infrastructure.
