The fact that people can't handle uncomfortable things and the fact that characters in stories can become worse over time or be despicable and flawed but still be interesting. If you don't understand that just means that you don't have the capacity to understand the media that you read.

Been thinking about how much media has moved towards non-inflammatory resolutions, and how often I see people criticize discomfort and imperfection in stories, and it's making me want to pivot my own personal stories a bit more.

You want diverse art that is complex nuanced and deals with weighty themes? you are not going to get it from the big money companies. you need to embrace art that is unpolished, low budget, rough around the edges, and imperfect.

Friendslop is a terribly degrading term used by miserable, friendless basement dwellers who have ever only played FPS while yelling slurs at some kid.

Fuck people who say video games can’t be art. Video games are very much art. The way I see art it’s facet of creation and pouring you emotions into a piece of work. There are many games out there where people poured their soul into it and take the medium to new heights.
