I can think of fewer, more horrible and unnecessary practices than #FGM. We must put pressure on the governments of any place that still implicitly or explicitly permits it to happen.

I grew up with this too. It is not acceptable. It is not okay. It is not normal. That it is a necessity, still, is a travesty.
Bomb proof doors. Barbed wire. Coordinating with police. Community security service. Drilling congregants about the security protocol. Withholding the details of events publicly for security reasons. Always being on high alert. The list goes on.
