Tonight, the last Kiezsalon weekender of the season begins with a sold-out show in Moabit's Heilige-Geist-Kirche, featuring three Berlin premieres: Harry Gorski-Brown, Balladeste, and Tristan Perich.

Doors open at 19:00, and music starts at 20:00 CET.

Sound artist and contemporary composer Tristan Perich's work is inspired by the aesthetic simplicity of math, physics, and code.

At this Friday’s Kiezsalon, Perich works with the 120-year-old Walcker organ at the Heilige-Geist-Kirche.

On Saturday, 12 September, the Kiezsalon returns to the Museum Europäischer Kulturen in Dahlem. Under the late summer sun, we present Glasgow-based guitar veteran Richard Youngs, Canadian violinist Jessica Moss, and US sound artist C. Lavender.

Based in Glasgow, Harry Górski-Brown makes music which often draws from traditional Scottish music, performing using voice, pipes (big and small), fiddle, and electronics.

He makes his Berlin debut at the Heilige-Geist-Kirche on Friday, 11 September.

The London-based duo Balladeste, comprised of violinist Preetha Narayanan and cellist Tara Franks, merge contemporary classical, Indian classical, baroque influences, and folk traditions into a rich, contemplative blend of texture and melody — ancient yet modern, devotional yet boldly experimental.

On Friday, 11 September, the Kiezsalon heads to Moabit for the very first time. At the gothic Heilige-Geist-Kirche we present the Berlin premieres of Glasgow-based bagpiper Harry Gorski-Brown and London string duo Balladeste, as well as NYC composer Tristan Perich.

Another wonderful day in Northern Norway! Last evening, as part of Hamsundays, we saw two outstanding concerts by Maja Ratkje feat. Matti Aikio and Herborg Rundberg. Today, for our grand finale, we present the vocal ensemble Trondheim Voices at Hamarøy Church.

Over three sold-out days, each one with four concerts, the Kiezsalon made its very first visit to the Akademie der Künste at Pariser Platz.

The next Kiezsalon is coming up in less than one month. This time we return to KINDL in Neukölln.

Norwegian tubist, composer, producer, instrument builder, and brass researcher Peder Simonsen works at the intersection of experimental music, sound art, and just intonation.
