Teaching about slavery without addressing the aftermarket through which Black bodies continue to be bought, sold, and exploited deprives students of a full and critical education.
We need democratic reforms like Europe has experimented with. Citizens assemblies via sortition, for example, leverage collective intelligence to accomplish what individuals cannot. The people deserve to have a direct voice, beyond voting for representatives, in how policies are formed and adopted.

When people like Bernie or AOC propose sweeping programs like Medicare for All, the problem is never how to afford it—but rather how to resource it.

The federal government can financially afford anything it wants, but are there enough resources in the real economy to mobilize? That’s the question.

People thinking AOC is “fringe left” shows how far-right our Overton window is.

Universal healthcare, free tuition, and renewable energy are not extreme or even uncommon. The U.S. is an outlier among Global North states.

College should be free for all students. Education should be treated as a public good, not a privilege.

The Green New Deal administration will have to handle a constitutional problem unlike the New Deal or Great Society, due to SCOTUS rulings which have attacked the capacity of executive agencies. Chevron deference, major questions doctrine, etc. That’s something more people need to talk about.

MAGA supports Trump based on ideological aesthetics and racial anxieties. They project false fears of an engineered white decline onto Trump himself—making the anti-CRT, anti-BLM, and anti-affirmative action movement less about what these terms really mean and more about their political utility.

We’ve heard before many times about the Green New Deal’s financial side. It’s too expensive! It’s inflationary!

But while that conversation is important to have, and theories like MMT indicate that those fears aren’t really salient, there is an obstacle no one talks about.

As an institution of growth, whiteness in the context of its enslavement and land theft histories continues into the contemporary as a racial aftermarket. In this sense, whiteness’s need for constant growth perpetuates the racialized apparatus and the property interest in white status.

The hungry red panda at the Prospect Park Zoo? Adorable.

The HungryPanda delivery app scamming small businesses? Not adorable. So they will be paying $580,000 back.

We'll keep pursuing companies that take advantage of New Yorkers, and we'll keep asking if we can pet a red panda just for a second.

Buttigieg: "For the leader of this country to make a nakedly genocidal threat against another civilization as if the US was a death star that was going around blowing up civilizations, of course that is a new low ... the whole country is being judged just for tolerating that kind of thing at the WH"

Thank you to everyone who supported this campaign.

Together we were able to do things never seen in American politics, to set a new standard from what we should expect from the people who try to represent us.

What we built matters, regardless of the outcome. And the work isn’t over.

Democrats can either commit to the progressive shift or stay the party of losers. People like AOC, Mamdani, and Warren are the future of the Democratic Party—politicians who embrace class messaging and a bold progressive vision.

Greenland could be the next Hawai’i. The next Puerto Rico. The next Samoa. The next Guam. The next Northern Mariana. Free them all.

What people observing Trump’s anti-intellectualism often fail to realize is that the story does not end with assaulting and dismantling education; rather, MAGA sees education as both a threat and an instrument. It’s a problem to attack and an opportunity to pursue. Understanding this is critical.

Issues of racial domination can be linked to the growth imperative. From chattel slavery and land theft to the wages of whiteness, whiteness is deeply tied to economic growth. Thus, transcending capitalism, growthism, and white dominance must be pursued together.

The United States of America is the richest country in the history of the world. It is time for us to make good on the statement that health care is a basic human right.

We need health care for everyone. I’m staying in that fight all the way.

Trump wrongly indicted me. I’ll rightly impeach him.

Impeachment isn’t just an option, it’s a necessity. I know firsthand the lengths Trump is willing to go in order to silence dissent — but is it working?

Republicans are coming out against Trump en mass, but let’s make something clear: these people are not disillusioned with Trump’s extremism, they are moving further right. Trump isn’t fascist enough for them.

They’re not waking up; they’re becoming worse.

Self-censorship and preemptive concessions make it easier for authoritarian regimes to consolidate power. The more we commit to dissent and resistance despite our fears of retribution, the less of our power we concede to fascists.

I refuse to call TERFS “gender-critical” because their version of feminism has no grounding in critical theory nor critical thought. It’s all about branding their transphobic hate as something intellectual. It’s not.

Owning the libs by letting ACA subsidies expire and refusing to employ emergency SNAP funds. This is very on brand for the GOP.
As the Senate heads into its 13th vote on the clean CR, Democrats face a clear choice: reopen the government for the American people—or keep it shut down to give free healthcare to illegal aliens.

A society—that has 28 vacant homes per homeless person; has more than enough food while people go hungry; where the 1% owns 30% of all household wealth; and where 68k Americans die a year due to lacking healthcare—is a failed society.

Trump wants Texas v. Johnson (1989) overturned. The case didn’t merely deem flag burning to be free speech, but extended the First Amendment to protect other deeply unpopular forms of protest.

What happens when the state has the discretion of banning any acts of protest it deems unpopular?
