She won a seat drawn for Rs twice, defeating a Nazi, Joe Kent by a handful of votes. I don’t like the performance. The Rs have an electable candidate this time. This is the price for a D house She’ll make Jeffries Speaker snd Ds committee chairs. She’ll face millions in ads on social issues.

There is almost no left down there. This is mostly rural Washington. She squeaks by by paying attention to the values of her voters. It isn’t the world I would like it to be. But Aa D majority is crucial, and can’t be built without people like MGP and districts like hers.

I assigned an essay rooted in the book. It worked well on the substance and an example of how arguments are built with pieces meshing. Intro students did well with it
