I agree that Sophie is ignorant about trans issues (or non issue) when it comes to the wnba. I still love the team overall. They have had so much irrational hatred directed toward them, scrutinized like no other team. Criticized for existing. It’s ridiculous.

I watch the games and have been to a few. Name one time in any post game interview or any interview where CC has put down another player or has been unkind to players on her team.
What have you seen that shows AB isn’t kind? Have you listened to her speak?

They are a wonderful team. Aliyah Boston is super kind and a really good-hearted person. You have no idea what you’re talking about. There isn’t a coach or a player in the league who hasn’t complained about the officiating in the wnba.

I’ve recently been on Threads to get away from BS and my frustration with liberals (I’m one) talking to each other in a mirror. I follow WNBA which is its own shit show, although following excellent women athletes makes more sense than some dude on BS pontificating about what Democrats must do.

I’m not that interested in traction, it’s more about, This is who I am as a person. This is what I do. I’m happy with being quiet, but I want respect. Like we both deserve- and probably a bunch of people who the blue checks overlook every day.

Truth is, I’ve basically given up on Bluesky because of all the blue check siloes. Which is too bad for them, because they miss out on the potential for community engagement. I used to passionately care about progressive and liberal politics, which is why I’m here, but less and less.

Oh honey, I’ve replied to a lot of posts by blue checks and get nothing but crickets. I’m not saying I deserve a reply from those high and mighty smarter than the rest of us- but cmon, we all know the blue checks generally talk among themselves. It’s a skill issue on their part.

It is dead for regular people. The blue checks socialize and discuss among yourselves, but there’s little engagement with others. It’s become a silo. You all can do better.

I’m 71. In college in 1975, I dropped acid with a group of friends, and we went to the county fair. I had a “bad trip”, freaked out about the farm animals and their fates, as well as the crowds. I remember crying a lot and ending up sprawled out in the front yard of a friend. My god. Never again.

I don’t think she’s done anything wrong and loves her team dearly and would do anything for them. This whole situation is about attacking women.

She’s faced a lot of pressure and no doubt threats from MAGA men and men in general (who probably don’t watch the wnba). I wouldn’t be surprised if her family hasn’t also been threatened. Clark said after the game that the team had her back, and no way would they lose that game.
