It's a feature, not a bug. Republicans very much do not believe in equal rights - they are actively working to create a society of privileged insiders, and women aren't welcome in that club.

To my mind, if the GOP isn't willing to abide by the Constitution, they shouldn't be protected by it.

If they had read any literature since literally Beowulf, they would know a good king shares the wealth.

I've been thinking, if this administration isn't willing to be bound by the law and Constitution, I'm not sure why they think they're entitled to be protected by them.

Water systems are my job. Here in Idaho, the regulatory agency doesn't have the staff or budget to oversee Internet-connected water systems.

And the people doing installations and maintenance literally do not have the foundational knowledge to implement cyber security.

All the folks here talking about data theft - and they're right - but let's not overlook the installation of hardware and software to bypass official government channels and accountability.

I feel like not enough attention is being paid to the role of right-wing propaganda and the Federalist Society's work over the past 4 decades. They were able to manipulate enough voters to make this happen.

Business and marketing are professions where folks develop the skill of manipulating people. Unsurprising that they would be good at getting elected.

Too bad the skill of manipulating people is unrelated to the skill of doing the actual thing effectively - whatever that thing is.

The rule of law is a compromise - we the people agree to abide by it, as long as law enforcement abides by it too.

Once one side breaks that agreement, there's no incentive for the other side to keep to it either.

There's already too much of that "well sure, he did the wrong things, but it's too late so we'll just let it keep happening" going on.

That's how Al Gore lost, and it's how DOGE worked, and it seems to be how MAGA wants this administration to run, and I hate it.

Seems like there's an equal protection issue here. This administration really wants two legal systems- one full of exemptions for allies, and one with punishments for everyone else.

If the app is anything like the white house app, I would be very concerned about malware and data harvesting.

You sure can tell a lot about a person by how they handle corrective feedback.

For instance, if a leader fires anyone who says something the leader doesn't like, that leader becomes thin-skinned and ineffective.

Who can afford ammo in this economy?

Also, good shooting requires practice and training, but a lot of Americans think that just owning a gun and having an attitude can make up the skill gap.
May 24, 2026 at 5:15 AM
It would be better if the government took care of it, because if the citizens have to do it they'll just start by taking a bit off the top.

Getting sick of everyone sanewashing everything Trump says.

An apology without changed behavior is meaningless.

Great that he came to his senses, but more likely he just sees that the Trump regime is starting to fall apart.

They want to get elected, but they also need to appease billionaire and AIPAC campaign donors.
April 5, 2026 at 9:14 PM
To my mind, corporate culture and reality TV are responsible for modeling a lot of problematic behaviors.

Didn't Blackrock just buy like $50 billion in single-family housing yesterday? As if they knew some kind of regulation was coming?

The only thing that would make sense to me, is if this kid is either taking orders from someone else who doesn't want to be held accountable, or he's just there to administer the decisions made by AI.

Without putting too fine a point on it, there's a reason their very first move was to put loyalists in charge of every agency that employs guys with guns.

I'm not planning on obeying in advance, so...

Feels like the word "limited" is doing an awful lot of heavy lifting here...
February 7, 2026 at 4:22 AM
If a civilian behaved this way, it would be called "brandishing,"and it is a crime.

Rules for thee, but not for me.

I have a hunch, based on affidavits in the Epstein files, that death threats against elected officials are a part of Trump's success in suppressing opposition.
