I know but I thought you said they piled it up on the side? Also critical to cut the grass when it is green otherwise it has little input on its competitiveness. They probably missed that window but perhaps if you write to them they can explain their reasoning? It doubt its for convenience.

It will have been done to keep the rides open and maintain flower rich grassland for insects. If you cut late the grasses get the upper hand and flowers reduce in number. You have to lose flowers to gain flowers I'm afraid, if that makes sense.

You're right to call out the failings and the influence of fossil fuel lobbying but can we also celebrate the people out there fighting for environmental and social justice and what they achieve e.g. forging stronger links between climate and nature? Let's keep them motivated.
