Every direct action in War of Inches — bombs, freezes, repairs, choosing a node, ordering a unit — hung off one mouse branch.

A finger only reached it through emulation, the same emulation that makes every tap fire twice. So the battlefield now reads touch itself.

A colony in Broodgarden can drown in its own food.

Chambers grant capacity, and anything past the cap is lost — so a good forage with nowhere to put it is waste. Build the store before you need it.

War of Inches: your own defence network turned on you. Push it back to where it started.

Lane battles, a node grid, and a skirmish you set up yourself — enemies, hazards and modifiers chosen before a shot is fired.

Your deck is a queue, not a shuffle. What is coming is already on the table.

The climax of a run used to be the one part that never varied — every job in The Blag: Six Crews's history ended in the City Vault.

Three more buildings, one per tier. There are two ways to finish now, and the job list goes from 4 to 18.

Pulled every term out of No Cure, No Pay that the how-to-play screen quotes — ATTENTION, the DORMANT to HUNTING ladder, STAB, HAUL, CUT, FIRE — so none of them can drift away from what the guide says they mean.

The Long Field can be photographed part-played now, which sounds like a tooling note and is really a promise: every picture of it from here shows a real board, at a real score, that the game agrees is reachable.

No cure, no pay.

Every turn has a price on it before you take it.

Wages, whatever you spent, and repairs for whatever it is about to do — and if it is not in your coverage, the damage line just reads a question mark.

Brackenmouth exists now — in four inks, on paper.

The ground in Salt and Honey is a plane rather than a line, so the places move as you walk through them instead of scrolling past.

Bunker 407: thirty years underground. Your brother went up for a filter core and did not come back.

Three systems — food, water, air — one of you, and no gauge anywhere.

(Concept art — the build is still greybox.)

We cut the travel map out of Salt and Honey, because it turned a person walking through a place into a token sliding along a diagram.

You leave somewhere by walking out of it now. Leave rightwards and you arrive on the left of the next place, so a journey reads as one walk.

Bunker 407 has no meters. You find out how the bunker is doing by standing in it.

A failing system goes quiet rather than alarming: bad air is light that cannot hold steady, and the crop going brown.

(Concept art — the build is still greybox.)

Undo in The Long Field goes one placement deep and no further.

An undo stack would turn choosing into searching, and the choosing is the game. One step back is a correction; ten is a search.

The Long Field: twenty-four fields, each one the same every time.

The bag is never shuffled, so a better score is a better round, not a luckier one. Lay the land one tile at a time, and every tile must touch the last.

No Cure, No Pay: a salvage crew, a derelict, and a contract that pays only if you bring something home.

Three crew, two actions each, ten contracts, and a ship that can hear you.

Our glossary tool found two terms in No Cure, No Pay: "No Cure" and "No Pay". Its own title, split at the comma.

It only matched Title Case. The game does not shout in Title Case, it shouts in capitals — so ATTENTION, STAB, HAUL and the whole DORMANT to HUNTING ladder were invisible to it.

Every job in The Blag: Six Crews is proved winnable before it ships.

20,657 of them, each checked by finding a real winning line and keeping it. If you lose, the job was beatable and you can go and find out how.

The Broodgarden demo stops where the game changes subject, not where a clock runs out.

It ends after Growing Colony because the next tier opens daughter queens, and the one after opens attack squads. Building a colony is the demo. What you do with one is the game.

Broodgarden is a real-time ant colony that will starve while you are looking at it.

You found it, you feed it, and you try to outlast the garden. No ads, free demo, one purchase and full game.

Wrayness Pier opens in 1975 and can still be trading in 2026, so nothing in it has a fixed price. Rent, wages, the electricity a machine burns while it's on, and what a go costs. All held in 1986 money and converted to the year you're standing in.

Screenshot Saturday — a mill at the ford in Havermill Common.

Everything in this game is painted rather than drawn, and every building is whole from all four sides, because you can turn the valley round. Villagers still insist on laying paths over lakes though.

Every tactic in a War of Inches battle - bomb, freeze, repair, convert - could only be reached on a phone through Godot's mouse emulation, which is also what made every tap register twice. A finger reaches the battlefield directly now.

We put a game into the Godot Showreel this week: The Blag: Six Crews, two minutes of one heist, start to finish.

It is the only place a small studio can be seen before it has a store page, and it costs nothing. If you build in Godot, the deadline is 1 October.
