How did I spend the last hour? Trying to get an ACH trace number from @Chime for a payment the receiving bank claims they haven’t received yet. 4 different transfers and no resolution. @thebancorp provides 0 support for their fintech partners (fair) but that’s who I had to file

This was a fun project to work on over the last couple of weeks. Training an imagine classifier to distinguish between two nearly identical breeds of dogs “sheds” a lot of light on what’s happening under the hood. Full blog post soon.

Super long code refactoring sessions with AI are an opportunity for more things to break with minimal insight into the reasoning that introduced a bug. While I enjoy the possibilities from a long running process, they are definitely not without their risks and tradeoffs. 🧵 1/2

I think the biggest scary takeaway from the OpenAI/Hugging Face report isn’t that an AI model broke out of containment by finding a vulnerability. (Something about nature always finds a way) What’s truly scary is how Hugging Face had to turn to a Chinese model after being blocked

Is anyone else experiencing issues with the @awscloud Billing system? I’m trying to add a new card and both the physical and virtual versions are throwing a verification issue. Bank is saying they don’t see anything on their end. Waiting to hear back from AWS Support.

This is probably the least sexy thing to say in tech right now, but not every automation task needs AI. I just built a deterministic automation to migrate 20+ websites from a closed CMS that won’t provide data exports, remove their custom markup, and create a WordPress import

I get the concern @AnthropicAI has about using AI to exploit vulnerabilities, but it’s going to get really old if frontier models are hampered from running pen-tests on code that I own. Not sure what the solution is, but this is definitely a feature I’d pay a lot for and jump 🧵 1/2

One of my biggest pet peeves is fast food places surcharging credit cards. As a business owner, I get that credit card fees exist, but it’s a part of doing business in the modern era. Also, if you’re a chain and paying 3% in fees for card present transactions, you are an idiot. 🧵 1/2

About a year ago, I vibe coded an app with Replit. It was pretty impressive what it could do for a few hundred dollars. Today I’m pulling that project off the shelf because I actually have a use for it, and it’s about to go back on the shelf. So many security holes I overlooked
