Well intentioned or not, it’s literally redefining or removing certain (very powerful) words from circulation for a large and very young audience. Controlling what words can and cannot be used is to control understanding of of the world around us. 2/2

All really good comments… I would also add that in the next decade I think the impact of censorship of certain words like “sexual assault / rape” => SA, “murder / killed” => unalived, etc. on platforms like tiktok is going to have some unexpected consequences. 1/2
