We believe the majority of members see both the real potential of a candidate like AOC, and correctly have serious concerns about her. This will be true for any candidate. Our process aims to confront this, rather than ignoring it.

Much of this debate will occur on vague or procedural terms. Yet we all know this is really a proxy fight over AOC. Whether AOC wins our endorsement depends on her platform, her positions, and the other candidates. One thing is certain: our rank-and-file must decide.

4. Don’t threaten our members, organize them! The base proposal says chapters that do not debate the election will have their dues share reconsidered. Our proposal flips this, assigning each NPC member a set of chapters to organize. The buck stops with our leadership!

2. Give members a real choice! Any poll must offer members a chance to consider multiple candidates and articulate nuance and critical support, not a mere rubber stamp.

Finally, Jacob F from UF YDSA! He’s led his chapter running a campaign against UF’s 287(g) which collected over 2k petition sigs and held multiple rallies in coalition that 3x’d their members!
